I started volunteering at Burning Bush when I was 17 years old. I did not want to go to school anymore. After 1 month I became permanent staff and worked with the 2-3 year olds. I went to do my level 1 and started enjoying working with children, especially those with special needs. I had 2 special children in my class and I think that is why I stayed in this sector.
I took over Burning Bush in 2018 as I didn’t want it to close down after 21 years. Seeing the children in the morning with smiles on their faces keeps me motivated.
My parents had 7 children and never really had that special alone time with me. I make sure that I spend some one on one time with the children so that they can feel that they are seen and heard.
