60 children aged 3-6 years old.
To promote good quality Education in our community to all children from ages of 18 months to 6 years.
I started volunteering at Burning Bush when I was 17 years old. I did not want to go to school anymore. After 1 month I became permanent staff and worked with the 2-3 year olds. I went to do my level 1 and started enjoying working with children, especially those with special needs. I had 2 special children in my class and I think that is why I stayed in this sector.
I took over Burning Bush in 2018 as I didn’t want it to close down after 21 years. Seeing the children in the morning with smiles on their faces keeps me motivated.
My parents had 7 children and never really had that special alone time with me. I make sure that I spend some one on one time with the children so that they can feel that they are seen and heard.
How to help:
We need fundraising champions. Get creative – run a marathon on your front yard, host a virtual high tea, do something amazing and encourage your friends and family to change the world through early learning.
We rely on volunteers to lend a helping hand when teachers are off sick. To work in the classroom you need an up-to-date security check.
Help us get Covid-19 Ready:
We need to meet all health and safety requirements and Covid-19 protocols in order to open our centre to children in September. Our vulnerable children are missing out on wholesome meals and our love and care.
We want to offer our children a safe space where they can learn and thrive. We need your help to make this possible.
