Scholarship for Children

Quality ECD that cultivates confident, capable children

Why scholarships for transformation

Learning in Reach has learnt from experience that their greatest impact made has been placing marginalised, at-risk children in the care of a trained Montessori teacher.

Learning in Reach’s funding philosophy is one of empowerment, not charity. Funding a learner is a partnership between the caregiver, preschool, funding partner and Learning in Reach’s quality ECD model.

Join us in giving children access to quality early childhood learning, cultivating confident, capable and curious children ready to thrive in today’s world.

Project Aim

We aim to break intergenerational cycles of poverty, to reduce crime, unemployment & inequality.

We believe that community-led change can happen through creating interdependent, contributing, responsible adults by connecting every child to a Montessori empowered human.

What we have achieved so far

The first five years of a child’s life are critical years of brain development and proven to be the most cost effective stage in the education process to achieve optimal long term outcomes. Research shows that children who end up doing well have had at least one stable and committed relationship with a supportive adult.

Research shows that children in quality pre-school programs gain skills across literacy, maths & social-emotional development, narrowing gaps in households with limited access to financial resources & educational opportunities. Some studies show gains lasting well into adulthood.

Good results are associated with giving teachers quality professional learning opportunities, paying them a wage on par with foundation phase school teachers, supporting the use of effective curricula & other instructional materials, & engaging in partnerships with families.
